Kindness and Compassion, Always

 Its been a while since I have written.  

Life has been busy.  The loss of my father in law.  My fathers fall and the spiralling of his health and wheel chair and walker bound.  For two years he needed me to care for him.  The selling of my dads house and now my brother has cancer.  

My brother has just me and my children and grandchildren in life.  Cancer is not cheap.  Quite costly infact.  I care and do whatever my brother needs to get through this battle.  This is what the Bible says to do and what God expects.

Compassion, help others, always show kindness. Pray for others

There is a prisioner who gets cancer treatment where my brother goes.  

Cancer.  Painful, sickly, saddening, 

This man is cuffed in his hands and his feet.  Such a sorrowful face.  

Just as my brothers sad face and bone thin body.  Limping because he had a total hip replacement years ago.  

My brother is also is on the Autism spectrum.  Aspbergers which affects his communication especially in groups of people.  This makes cancer even harder for him.  1000 little details being thrown at him.  so much information to keep track of.  It is even overwhelming for me.  But that is why I am there, sitting, at every meeting and dr visit.  

My brother and this prisoner that I see, need compassion.  Kindness.  

No matter what.  Prayers.  

I see people, christian people joking about others in the world.  Jokes about what others do wrong. 

being negative, then they say,  "oh I am just joking"

this is wrong!  Bible says this is wrong.  Everyone, no matter who, need

compassion and kindness.  Its what the Bible says to do.   

Focus on the good, holy, positive.  Bible says to do this too.  

Dont joke!  Pray for them.  Pray! for those who believe different than you.

Show love by being kind and compassionate.

:If you cant say something nice, dont say anyhting at all.

Pray for others, always.

Lifes Jouneys

      Last week was an great week for me.  I had a really bad panic/anxiety attack that I thought I should tell my doctor about, and he could prescribe something.  But I felt he would not believe me and I really don't want to "take another pill."   The cause of my anxiety is because of two people who conned and used my husband and I.  Liars and thieves, they are.  I do have a lot of anger and hurt towards them, well I did.  I have been praying.  Giving it to God.  He has my back. He will deal with them.  I have to trust this.  I have to trust God.  So now I pray.  The anxiety left and I had a wonderful week.  I felt so good.  One day I did have really bad migraine and all that goes along with that.  But it passed.  God has been teaching me little lessons all week.  The biggest thing that I learned is that when in a situation that affects us, God will teach little lessons along the way.  As long as we keep our focus on him and not let the situation rule us.  At first I was so angry with these people, angry with my husband.  I also felt conned by my husband.  Lies to me even before the other two were in my life.  The harm my husband did to my children and grandchildren.  The whole situation with so many different irritants and hurts.  My regrets of my marriage.  I did marry him, and divorce is not an option...not really.  God has my back.  He will handle all my struggles and hurts.   So at first when these two (three) stole and used us and my hubby enabled them to do so, I was raging angry.  God had to work on me with my anger.  Now almost two years later, God has taught me to just "let it go".  For the past four months I have been trying to make up the anger I showed to the two people.  Apologizing.  Their thing is they don't want to defend themselves or talk it out.  No responses or appreciation towards me.  I let them know that all is well with me now.  I just want to get along and be friends. 
      One lesson that keeps coming up is to be kind...TO EVERYONE!  Kindness. So I am working on kindness. 
        There is a preacher in Tennessee that I love.  His name is Cory, and he pastors Experience (something) church in Murfreesboro, TN.  He did a sermon on Family.  It was so good.  All of his sermons are good.  The one thing that stood out was wives are to respect their husbands.  Respect...don't talk badly of them.  Give the hurts to God.  Let him handle it.  Be kind.  Also, don't gossip.   kind and say kind things.  Give the negative to God.   He said a lot that really hit home in my heart. 
            I learned that God teaches little lessons as we grow and when our hearts change.  It is a process.  A journey.  I couldn't go from RAGE to Kindness.  It had to be a process and I had to learn why and how.  Journeys. 
          Last Sunday, my pastor's wife talked of the prodical son story in the Bible.  He welcomed his son back who had wasted all of his wealth.  But he did not exclude the son who stayed home and did as he should.  There was also a song that we sang that said, "The world is as it should be"  One line in a song that just jumped out at me.  Why get angry or hurt by those who are lost and blind.  They know not what they do.  God can work in peoples lives.  We are to just be kind and share Jesus Christ by the way we live.  I read somewhere that "We may be the only Bible they read"  We are the examples, The lights, the candles. 
         My son reminded me of who I was.  He read previous blogs and reminded me of the horrible person I was.  I am not that person anymore.  God used my wonderful son to remind me that I am not the person anymore. 
        My pastor, Dan, at Dayspring Christian Church in Knightdale, North Carolina, has been doing a series on journeys in the Bible.  The Bible is full of "journeys."   Life is full of journeys.  Pastor Dan's sermons are always good and seem timely for what I personally need to hear.  God is so good.  His doing this series has made me really think about "journeys" and the reasons and purpose of them all.  As I said, the Bible is full of journeys.  Life is full of journeys too.  PRAISE GOD!

GOD IS ALWAYS TEACHING US



       Whenever you hear the same message, sermon, devotion topic, etc... over and over....it is God teaching us something we need to learn, or relearn or something we need to work on. 
       I have been hearing the same topic to be KIND to others.  Today, I read Titus 3 and once again, it told me to be kind.  We may be the only Bible that other's "read".  We need to set a Godly example with our lives.  Anger does not set a good example.  I get so upset (and angry) because people don't act like they are supposed to.  Self mindedness...treating other badly.  But getting angry only caused me ulcers and anxiety and panic attacks.   All we can do is state facts to others in a loving way.  Tell them what the Bible says.  Share our story to help others.  If they don't listen, it is not us they are rejecting, they are rejecting God.  The Bible says to just brush the dust off our shoes and move on.  The Bible also says to keep doing good.  Don't cause a harm for a harm.  Just keep on being kind.  Sometimes we just have to be silent and let God deal with a hurt that someone has caused on us.  We are also to tell God about how we feel. Pray pray pray.  Don't talk to others and bad mouth someone who has cause harm or sinned, that is gossup.   These are all things that I personally need to work on.  I feel that if I don't get angry or let someone know they have done wrong, then are getting away with hurting me.  It's not fair.  But this is not God's way.   Be kind and keep doing good.  That's God's way.

3; Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. 10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. 11 You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.

MY PAST IS MY PAST

I AM NOT WHO I USED TO BE

   I have a past that I am so ashamed of.  I want everyone to know that I am not that person who I was when I did shameful things.  I will never do those things again.  God has forgiven me and HE has forgotten them.  I would like to forget them as well.  But that is hard to do.

1986

1986

A very memorable year for me.  I was happily married and we had a four year old little girl.  I wanted another baby.  A baby Joshua.  1986 I was pregnant with my baby Joshua.  My favorite song for that year was Madonna's, "I'm keeping my baby"  It happened to be the number one song for the year.  Madonna and I were born on the same day.  So I like her and she sings well. 

I watched the video today and it brought back so many memories of that year, and another time in my life when I  was so in love and found myself pregnant.  I married the guy of that haunting time of life.  It was 1978.   I had wanted to be a mommy ever since I was 8 years old.  Here I was pregnant.  But I felt no hope and was in fear of losing my job.  The shame of  being pregnant and not married.  We were both young, he was VERY young.  Marriage was not an option.  Three years later, marriage was the answer, and so we married.    I watched the video and cried.  Why wasn't I bold to say to everyone,  "I'M KEEPING MY BABY! I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A MOMMY. IT IS ALL I WANTED IN LIFE."    God did give me three children.  Five pregnancies.  The first one, I gave back to God.  The horror and shame that I felt for  so many years.  My biggest regret in life.  I also had a miscarriage, but didn't know I was pregnant until then.  That was a blessing, (another long story) but God had my back.  I think back to the days of my youth and I would not change a thing.  I wish I had kept the baby, but now I truly understand God's forgiveness.  He loves me.   My husband passed away and even though we had a rocky marriage, I cherish it.  I miss him a lot.  A whole new life began a year after he died...another long story for later.  

My baby is with Jesus and that's all that matters.  He loves all the little children.  .

THIEVES AND THOSE WHO HURT YOU

What does the Bible say?  I have had someone hurt me by taking advantage and conning me out of money.  Lies and promises of paying back.  This has overwhelmed me with hurt.  Lies hurt.  I thought they were family, but they saw me as a stranger.  So, what does the Bible tell me? 



Ephesians 4:28               
Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

Romans 12:19               

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Let God deal with those who hurt you.  (this is hard for me) 

John 10:10              

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. Jesus came to save the thieves from themselves.  They just need to confess and repent.  Accept Jesus as their Lord and savior.  Steal and lie no more.  But if they do, confess and feel real shame for their sins.    

Revelation 21:8               

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

  

John 8:44               

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

1 John 2:4               

Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

Exodus 22:1-31               

“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. If a thief is found breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him. He shall surely pay. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. If the stolen beast is found alive in his possession, whether it is an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he shall pay double. “If a man causes a field or vineyard to be grazed over, or lets his beast loose and it feeds in another man's field, he shall make restitution from the best in his own field and in his own vineyard. ... Thieves are to  pay back!!  

1 Timothy 5:8               

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.   Family helps family..even our brothers and sisters in Christ.  But not enable them.     
   

Matthew 18:15-17             

“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Matthew 22:37-39               

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.     Love is saying something and not wanting anyone to  go to eternal damnation.  Love is wanting everyone to go to Heaven.  So making then accountable for their sins is not wrong.  Talk to them in love.  Love is wanting them in Heaven. 

John 14:15               

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.     

1 Corinthians 6:10               

Nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”

Mark 11:17               

And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.”   Jesus was angry that there was evil going on in his house.  It is ok to be angry about the sins of others.     Anger without sinning.

“You shall not steal.

Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

  

Leviticus 19:11               

“You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another.

  

  

Isaiah 61:8               

For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.   God hates thieves and liars. 

  

Luke 10:27              

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”     Jesus first!

2 Timothy 3:16              

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.  Read the Bible every day and do what it says!!  

 

2 Peter 3:10               

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. All will be judged by God.  Those who have not accepted God's son will be exposed.  God will deal with them.    

Hebrews 13:5               

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” God is our provider.  He will never leave us.  Don't worry about anything.    

Romans 2:21               

You then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach against stealing, do you steal?    Evaluate yourself.    

Luke 12:16-21               

And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ ...   Don't hang on to things or be greedy.  "Stuff" will just rot away.    

Luke 10:25-37               

And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” ...

  

Matthew 6:19-20              

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

  

2 Corinthians 5:17               

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.    If your are a believer of Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven.    

Malachi 3:8-9               

Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you.   

Hosea 4:2               

There is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.

Jeremiah 49:9               

If grape-gatherers came to you, would they not leave gleanings? If thieves came by night, would they not destroy only enough for themselves? This is fine.  We are to help others.  But some take take take more than they need.  Greed.  This is wrong. 

Proverbs 29:24               

The partner of a thief hates his own life; he hears the curse, but discloses nothing. Interesting.  The thief in my life does has a partner, who has not said anything during the conflict between myself and the one who stole from me.     

2 Peter 3:9              

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.    God is patient with us.  He knows and will wait for us to come back to him.  Confess our wrong doing and repent.    

Luke 12:33               

Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.    Our treasure is in Heaven.  Not on Earth.    

Ezekiel 33:15               

If the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die. A thief is to pay back and do good. 

  

Proverbs 6:30-31               

People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his appetite when he is hungry, but if he is caught, he will pay sevenfold; he will give all the goods of his house.   We are to help others.  This is true.    A thief shall payback according to the bible. 

  

Proverbs 30:8-9              

Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.      One of the ten commandments is to not steal.  No matter what, don't be like them.  Liars and thieves.  Keep eyes on Jesus.    

 

My conclusion....be still and lay the burden down at Jesus' feet.  Pray.  Trust the Lord.  He knows your hurts.  Don't sin in anger.  Don't avenge.  Be loving.  Speak truth.   But when feeling overwhelming hurt and anxiety, just be still and wait.  Don't let the evil one fill your head or heart with sadness.  Look to Jesus.

    LIFE IS CHANGING, BUT...


          I was driving past Garner High school and it brought back many memories and thoughts.  Garner High School was built in the 60's and my children's father went there in the 70s.  My children went there in the 90s and 2000s.  Many football games there.  Many activities that we participated in.  Now the building is gone and a new bigger one is coming up.  This then led me to think about how life has so many changes.  Nothing stays the same.  New growth in housing, buildings businesses.  People come into our lives and leave our lives, by moving on or by passing away.  It is sort of sad in a way, but we are to think forward.  The past may have been wonderful, but God says to not look to the past.  Memories are good and they are bad.  Forget the bad and hurt.  Hang on to the happy memories.  Hang on to the memories that made us grow.  We are not who we used to be.  There is a verse in the Bible  about not thinking the past was better than today. (Ecc 7:10 ) Even though our lives are always changing , seasons they call it.  Seasons of life as there are seasons of nature.  The seasons are not always the same.  Our lives are not always the same.( Ecc 3:1)  BUT, there is one thing that is always always the same.  God's word, and Jesus. (Heb 13:8)  We can count on this.  We can depend on this.  We can trust this, as we can trust God that he has plans for us  (Jeremiah 21:11)  and he has our backs always always always!  You just have to love His Son, Jesus Christ and believe He is the only way to eternity in Heaven. (John 14:6, John 3:36 and Romans 6:23) Heaven where there will be no more tears ever again. (Rev 21:4)

OPIOID EPIDEMIC

         I am going to write about this horrible opioid epidemic.  It has affected pretty much everyone.  If you don't know someone who has died because of this epidemic, then you probably know of someone who knows someone who has died.  Most of us have taken opioids following surgery, or anything that resulted in pain.  A lot of us have not gotten addicted, but you can see how they can be addicting.  This epidemic is not drug addicts in the street or in their homes.  It affects all races, economics classes, all ages, and so on...no one is immune from getting addicted or abusing these pain pills or eventually getting on heroine.  I wrote a letter to the editor in response to an article that I read on this epidemic.  It follows.  Pray for those who are struggling with this addiction.  Pray for the families  of those affected and who have lost loved ones.  Just PRAY AND DON'T JUDGE!!  "That's all I got to say about that"

Rereading is a good thing.

        You know how you will read the Bible and then you read it again, places that you have read before, but this time verses jump out at you.  The verses are packed with information.  It's been there, you just didn't notice before. How could you have missed it before. you ask yourself.  God opens our eyes sometimes and our hearts.    We are going through 1 Peter in church.  Facinating...but the whole Bible is fascinating.  Today we were in the second chapter.  These verses just jumped out.  Answers to questions I have been asked.  I never knew where in the Bible it said what I said as truth. 

1 Peter 2 (NIV) 
Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 2
 
I knew that the angry way of dealing with people who hurt was wrong.  That the Bible says that vengeance is wrong.  Leave all that for God to deal with.  HE has our backs.  So this verse reminds me to not try to "get back or get even"  , to not be jealous of those who hurt  me or get away with doing wrong, to not talk badly about them which is what I understand slander to be.  I am guilty about talking badly about those who have hurt me or took advantage and don't see what they have done is wrong.  I just need to give it up to God.  Lay it down at the feet of Jesus.  "Let it go" or "Let it be"    Sometimes we all just need to be reminded of what we already know in our hearts.  Thank you God. 

The Living Stone and a Chosen People

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
    will never be put to shame.”[b]
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone,”[c]
and,
“A stone that causes people to stumble
    and a rock that makes them fall.”[d]
They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

These verses tell us, those who love the Lord and believe Jesus as our savior and the only way to Heaven, that were are not of this fallen world.  We are set apart and we are different.  It is ok to be different.  We belong to God and not the world. We do Godly things and not worldly things.  We follow God and not follow  the worlds views and beliefs. 

Living Godly Lives in a Pagan Society

11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. 16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. 17 Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

We believers in Christ are to be an example of Christ.  Or try to, we are not perfect and God knows this and is forgiving.  But try to do good.   Some think that because they are Jesus followers and know they are going to heaven and that they will be forgiven, that they can just do as they please and continue sinning and doing bad things.  Living a worldly life you might say.  Cant have both , the world and Heaven.  Live for the Lord, when you make a mistake, confess to God and repent.  If you don't feel bad for your sin, then you have not repented (or turned away and try to do better)  People who use this excuse to continue a sinful life because they know they are forgiven, need to read  verse 16.   Verse 17 says to show respect to EVERYONE!!   We can respectfully tell someone that what they do is wrong.  But we don't need to argue or get angry.  State the truth and be respectful to them.  If they don't listen, just walk away.  Don't take things personally.  The battle is a spiritual one.  Walk away and pray for them.  We are to love our family of believers (Jesus followers)  This is where the Bible says to love.  We love those in our family (Gods family) and respect those who are not.   This verse 17, says soo much in how we deal with the world and with our family of fellow Jesus believers.  RESPECT NON BELIEVERS, LOVE BELIEVERS.  RESPECT IS ALSO SHOWING THE LOVE OF JESUS.  WE DO LOVE THOSE WHO ARE WORLDLY, BY TELLING THEM OF THEIR SIN AND SHARING JESUS, THIS IS LOVE BECAUSE WE DONT WANT THEM TO GO TO HELL.  WE WANT TO SEE EVERYONE IN HEAVEN WITH US.  THAT IS LOVE, NOT WANTING ANYONE TO BURN.

Marriage

I just read previous posts for a year or two ago.  I was so unhappy in marriage.  My hubby was not very nice to my children.  But he has seen his ways and oppologized.  He has been such a wonderful husband for the past year.  God has worked in both of our hearts.  Life is good.

       I am riding in the car on the way to church and just staring at the clouds.  Clouds are a sign there is a God.  He is the only one who can paint such beauty in the sky.  These clouds are in stripes.  Lines across the sky.  I had never really noticed this type of cloud.  I was also thinking of the events of the year.  Not good events...hurt and anger about one situation.  Yesterday there was "drama".  But today, it is all just funny and does not bother me.  I am at peace.  I said the things I wanted to say and I stated facts.  I said things , not in anger, but in truth.  Anyway, the last day of this year and all is well. 
     2018 is a new beginning.  A new start.  Jesus came as a baby...a new beginning, a new start.  It is a God sighting that Christmas is so close to New Years.  Thinking on the baby Jesus, the reason for the season (the reason for all seasons actually)  and I was thinking, the past is the past, new starts for this year. 
       Then we arrived at church, the message (sermon) was related to my thoughts while on the way to church.  The past is the past, look forward, grow and share Christ with others.  New beginnings, New starts.  A new year!!
        When I got home, I saw a facebook post from a friend.  It went along with what the message of today was.     Isaiah 43:18-19
" Forget the former things; Do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; Do you not perceive it?" 

I am ready for 2018 and looking forward to it.

Self minds
 
 
I am a nice person.
Most people seem to be very self minded.
I do and do for others,
but get nothing in return.
Is this self minded on my part?
I just get tired of being nice and helpful.
Bible says to never stop being nice.
 
People talk about their lives, their families,
but when i talk of what brings me joy,
I get cut off. 
or just ignored.
If I let someone know that what they do is wrong or they have hurt me
I am wrong. 
I feel so alone.
 
I would just like friends and family to give in return.
To do something nice for me. 
appreciate me. 
I feel so unappreciated.
Just taken advantage of, used, ignored all the time.
it hurts
 
I am sad. 
Am I the selfish one because I show appreciation and I do for others
expecting it in return. 
 
What about me? 
 
Jesus loves me.  I just keep praying.  I know that God loves me dearly
even if no one else does.

HE IS WITH US

For past month (or so) I have run across the same message over and over though my daily Bible reading, devotional books and prayer times...and that is God is always with us and he listens. Sometimes with so much going on and a person feel overwhelmed with life or the world...he thinks...God is with me, but not doing anything. Or I know God is with me and I know I will be ok..I just have to trust Him. As I said, this message, "God is with you and He listens" has been popping up a lot. Today, God gave me an example in my own life and in something my mom said years ago. First, when my husband died and I was feeling the overwhelming sadness a couple of days after the funeral, my dad showed up at my house. He just sat down and opened the book that he was reading at the time. He was just "there" but that was so comforting. It reminded me of my dad throughout my childhood when he was not at work, most of the time he would be sitting in his chair and reading. My dad was always "there" and that was a comfort to me my whole life. Things may have been going on in my life that were bothersome, but my dad was there and I knew I was going to be ok. My mom told me the story of when she was in labor with me. She's in labor (at home, before they went to the hosp) and my dad is sitting in his chair reading. She said it really helped that he was there being calm, and she knew she was going to be ok because the love of her life was sitting not too far away, ready to do whatever she needed him to do. (My dad said he read the same sentence about a 100 times....he was nervous, but didnt let mom know it) So, God sighting, God is with us, always. Just knowing he is with us through the good and the bad and it looks like he is not doing anything, he is there WITH US, and that is a comfort. Forgive me for writing so much....another God sighting when Paul (my husband now) was picking me up from TN after my daughter broke her ankle, on the ride home, the song "Even If" came on and Paul was singing along with the song, it said a lot to me. With all the turmoil in the world and, it seems God is not doing anything. God wants everyone to turn to Him. So he allows it. He also allows those who reject Him to just live in their sin...thats what they want. But with all this trouble in our world, we belong to HIM. We are HIS. Our hope is in HIM. Our trust is in HIM. Our hope is in HIM ALONE. (got off on a tangent....for a second) Paul was singing and it was perfect...peace...a turning point in my marriage. All is well. (for the most part ) 💖 God is good all the time. He cares.

January 8th, 2017

        I am sad today.  P has been gone a whole week.  Tomorrow will be 8 days.  Being together 24/7 was hard because he jealous when I wanted to go see my kids.  Now he is not here at all (he's working)  I have time to just think.  My life is what I want (or is it...I don't like being totally alone...the kids don't come visit)  I can eat what I want.  I think back over the past two months.  His son, fiancé and the two kids moved here from Oklahoma.  WHY??  Why did they move here with no money, why leave a good job, why leave a nice home?  WHY.  Because they get a free life...free as in financially.  So many lies were told to me by P.  He has paid for EVERYTHING! He even gave them money before they moved here.  Lies and more lies about the moving truck.  I am so hurt and angry.  I am angry with them.  I should be angry with P.  I hate them.  They probably hate me too.  I have been so nice.  Bought them gifts.  Nothing in return...nothing!! I know that is not the right attitude.  Bible says to not do things for others expecting things in return.  Bible also says to keep doing good.  That is so hard.  I want to ignore them.  My heart hurts so much thinking about that they owe me...me..me  over $20,000.  I wouldn't hurt so much if it weren't for the past with P.  He was so mean to my youngest. Wouldn't buy him clothes  or the food he wanted.  P would have negative things to say everytime I wanted to babysit my grandkids, or take them somewhere for fun.  "why cant their parents pay?"  Josh rented MY house and P nagged me to tell them to pay the rent.  My son's job was cut to half time.  P didn't care.  No support when my son in law died.  No comfort at all.  My granddaughters life was turned upside down and she had anxiety, he called her a brat.  He calls one of my other grandkids a brat.  This child had anxiety too.  His grandchild is a very disrespectful child.  I just cant let go of all the hurt he has caused by sabatoging my time with my kids.  Sitting in the car.  Not being social.  Well not the events have flipped.  I don't want to babysit his grandkids, I don't want to be social with his family.  But I am not outright rude.  He insults my family and says, "oh I am just kidding...a joke" His jokes to my oldest grandson are inappropriate.  I don't like him.  I don't like the kind of person he is.  There is a double standard when it comes to our families.  I wanted to be one big family, but the events of the past two months have changed it.  It is now my family and his family.  I want to write them a letter explaining everything.  The hurt and anger they have caused me.  My opinions don't matter.  So much disregard or disrespect towards me.  He may say the same about me, I ignored his silence when I wanted to do what I wanted to do.  One time He told me to not invite him if I didn't want him to go with me.  I was being polite by asking him.  So then one time I didn't invite him, he said "aren't you going to invite me?'  I lost it.  I cried and said it doesn't matter what I do, it is wrong. ( He says the same about me.  That he feels everything he does is wrong...well it is...he is a narcissist and the world is NOT all about him!!)  He then tried to put guilt on me..."I would like to spend time with R or see the grandkids)  While I was gone he moved his dresser into the office..My room...my office.  He moved all my stuff out.  I was so hurt. So hurt!!  What the heck was that all about.  He says he will leave, but he doesn't.  He said when he got his money, he would leave.  Sometimes he says he will move into the storage building.  I don't want him in the storage building.  That is crazy.  He takes it to mean I don't want him to leave.  I need to just meditate on the Bible and pray pray pray.  What to do.  Be still and let God work.  I am sad, angry and so hurt by P, S and D.  I guess D being raised by P, will be a lot like his father.  Take take take.  Use and abuse.  Take advantage.  I hate that.

Well then...

I have not finished blogging this book I am reading.  It is a very good book and the main point of it all is to have a positive mind.  Always!! Think on things good and Holy.  Don't put yourself down. God loves you and God made you.  If you do slip up, talk to God and repent.  Talk to God about everything.   Even if you are angry.  At least you are venting at him.  When you tell others of your hurts, sorrows, angers, etc...first, you are not putting God first.  Tell him how you feel first before you talk to others.  What you say  could turn into gossup  Trust God more than you trust people.  This is biblical.  Bottom line, PUT GOD FIRST.  JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND LOVES YOU.  HE FORGIVES AND WILL HELP YOU.  NO MATTER WHAT!

More Thoughts

  I have continued reading the book I was telling you about.  One point that the author brings out many times, and it is just common sense is we should always have a positive attitude.  How we react is very important.  We can voice our opinion if something is bothering us in a positive way, not with anger or rage.  If we tell ourselves to not to get overly upset about stuff, then we will feel better.  Anger and wrath are not God's way.  It doesn't mean that we have to just sit back and take whatever it is that bothers us or if someone is mean to us.  We can handle it in a positive way and tell ourselves it doesn't bother us ...that much.   Another thing that the author brought up was the word Shalom , which means Peace.  She should have an attitude of Shalom.  In the way we react, in what we say, in how we feel.

I reading this book and don't see how it applies to me.  I like myself.  I think I am nice person.  I am highly sensitive and a little paranoid.  I do tell myself that people don't like me.  They like the ones who talk a lot and lie.  I am the opposite.  But I feel people think I lie.  I just don't know.  I will read on.....

More on Self Talk

      I am reading a book that someone gave to me to read.  I wondered what is wrong with me that people give me books to read.  My daughter said , " Maybe she thought it was a good book"   so I am reading it to see if it is something I need.  The author calls it "Soul Talk"  All is well with my soul.  Well I feel all IS  well with my soul.  But maybe not??  Maybe people see me as someone who is lost.  I try to prove to people all the time that I am NOT lost.  I am not blind or deaf to what God has to say.  I try to (maybe too hard) to let people know they are not living right.  I point out things that are not Holy.  I tell people all the time what the Bible says. 

      What I read today talks about what we say to ourselves about ourselves.  I'm a bad mother, I a failure, Etc..."  Well, I HAVE  said I was a failure.  But I like myself.  I don't understand why people don't like me.  That is what I tell myself.  I am a good, funny, smart and sweet.  But people talk to me and I guess I tell too much about myself and they never want to talk to me again.  I talk of my sorrows, my trials.  I guess I am talking to negatively.  I need people I can talk to about everything.  I do have my kids and my friend Erin.   I did get into a discussion on facebook about the ability to cry.  I was so argumentative.  It got kind of crazy.  I sure didn't represent Jesus very well.  That is my goal that people will see what God wants them to know.  That the world is bad.  Then on Sunday we sang a song that had a line, "Boast in Jesus"  I should just share Jesus and boast in HIM.  So far what I have read in this book, is not me.  I don't think badly of myself.  I think I am a likeable person, but others don't see it.  I am not a narcissist though.  No way!!!  I am very honest.  Maybe too honest.  Maybe that's why people don't like me.  I hate lyers.  Well not hate.

I am starting to read a book and decided to comment on what I read.  My preachers wife gave me the book to read and I thought about writing to her and sharing deep personal stuff as I read.  But decided to just write on my blog and maybe share with  her later.   People are always giving me books to read.  It makes me feel like something is wrong with me.  I seem depressed or confused.  I am not depressed.  I over think.  I think a lot.  The book I have been given this time by my pastor's wife is on Self Talk.  I am a happy person.  Really I am, but I have voiced that I am ashamed of how I used to be.  My past.  I was very shy as a child, but I was also kind of mean to my friends.  I was boy crazy.  People have not seemed to like me.  But there was a time, I was very funny and the life of the party.  People liked me.  I lied a lot.   I like myself now.  I think I am smart.  I am quiet because I am not good at talking.  I feel people don't care what I have to say. When I am talking, people cut me off.  It happens over and over.   So I write. My husband talks all the time.  People love him.  He lies.  He is a narcissist.  And people love him!!  I am a good person and people don't like me.  Ok..some of this might be my self talk.  So I will continue to read the book and share my thoughts.  

Repeating, I am a happy person.  I love my Lord, Jesus Christ.  I am a good mother.  I find beauty in God's creations.  Nature...trees and clouds.  Animals, children, people.  I love people.  I want them to like me.  My children don't come to see me because my husband has been hurtful to them.  He is the step dad.  I could go into another long speech about all of this.  But I don't want to think about it right now.  I do know that I am not happy in my marriage.  It is hard being married to a Narcissist.  I feel trapped.  Stuck.  Marriage is a life commitment.  I did marry him.  I do worry about what other people think of me.  So maybe in her wisdom, my pastor's wife saw something that she thinks will benefit me from this book.  Even though the Bible is the ultimate help/how to love your life, live your life.  God's way.  Teaching us about Jesus and how we can be like him and how to grow and handle all situations we find in our lives.  So I will read and comment.  Stay tuned........to be continued.
